Can Tho City: Avoid localism and group interests in personnel work after provincial merger

On the afternoon of May 26, the Standing Committee of Can Tho City Party Committee coordinated with Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee and Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee to organize a conference to discuss personnel plans after merging provincial administrative units, in order to unify the organization of the City Party Committee Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, key officials and the City Party Committee Inspection Committee.

Attending the conference were comrades: Do Thanh Binh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee; Lam Van Man, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee; Dong Van Thanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Hau Giang province.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee Do Thanh Binh emphasized that the selection of personnel after the merger is a particularly important task, requiring impartiality, objectivity, and strictness, putting the interests of the Party Committee and the people of the city above all. Personnel work must aim to serve the prosperous and sustainable development of Can Tho City in the current and subsequent terms.

Comrade Do Thanh Binh requested to absolutely avoid negative manifestations such as: localism, group interests, entrustment, impact, intervention or domination in personnel work. The selection of cadres must be based on moral qualities, professional capacity, high sense of responsibility, determination to act and actual work efficiency.

The conference agreed: the results of the review and selection of personnel will be reported to Comrade Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly - the person assigned by the Politburo to direct the implementation of the policy of merging Can Tho City, Hau Giang Province and Soc Trang Province; at the same time, it will be reported to the Central Organizing Committee for consideration and decision according to its authority.
