Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai agree on investment agencies for 3 bridges connecting the two localities.

Ho Chi Minh City will be the competent authority to implement the Phu My 2 Bridge Project, while Dong Nai province will be the authority to implement the Cat Lai Bridge and Long Hung Bridge Project (Dong Nai 2 Bridge).

Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee has just sent a document to Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee agreeing on the content of assigning competent agencies to implement the Cat Lai Bridge, Phu My 2 Bridge and Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai 2 Bridge) projects.

In the document, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province agreed that the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will be the competent authority to implement the Phu My 2 Bridge Project, while Dong Nai province will be the authority to implement the Cat Lai Bridge and Long Hung Bridge Project (Dong Nai 2 Bridge).

Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee requested Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to report to the City People's Council to implement the three bridges Cat Lai, Phu My 2 and Long Hung.

During the implementation process, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee will direct specialized agencies to promptly coordinate with specialized agencies of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to ensure implementation progress between the two localities.

Most recently, on October 21, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee held a conference to discuss investment plans for a series of key infrastructure projects between the two localities, including three bridges: Cat Lai, Phu My 2 and Long Hung.

Regarding the Cat Lai Bridge Project, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province has just issued a document approving the assignment of Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1) to study and propose investment in the Cat Lai Bridge Project and access road under the form of public-private partnership (PPP).

Previously, CC1 had a preliminary proposal for the Cat Lai Bridge Project with a length of 11.7 km. In which, the land clearance part will be paid for by the budgets of Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City.

The Cat Lai Bridge construction component project and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge will be implemented by the investor with a total investment capital of VND 12,564 billion (including loan interest).

CC1 affirmed that if the investment policy is approved by the authorities, the Cat Lai Bridge Project can start construction at the end of 2025.
