Mr. Phuc stated that the project is divided into three bidding packages. Of these, bidding package number 2, which involves the construction of Hiep An 2 bridge in Chanh Hung and Phu Dinh wards, has already had its contractor and supervisory consultant selected. Construction on this package is scheduled to begin on August 13th.
As for package number 1 (from Ngang 2 canal to Hiep An 2 bridge in Phu Dinh ward) and package number 3 (from Hiep An 2 bridge to Y-shaped bridge in Chanh Hung ward), if the Department of Construction issues an appraisal notice in August 2025, these two packages can be started in November, with expected completion in the second quarter of 2027.
Regarding the land clearance for the Project, according to a consolidated report from the three wards of Chánh Hưng, Bình Đông, and Phú Định, the Project affects 1,605 households, and to date, more than 2,964 billion VND has been paid to 1,014 cases.
After hearing reports on the plans and implementation methods from the three wards, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong agreed on August 13th as the project's commencement date and requested relevant units to urgently complete the necessary procedures to ensure the set progress.
Mr. Cuong requested that the People's Committees of the wards urgently review and comprehensively adjust the 1/2,000 scale zoning plan according to the new administrative boundaries. Afterward, they should report to the Department of Construction before September 15th for compilation and submission to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for approval.
Regarding the resettlement plan for people affected by the Project, Mr. Cuong requested that the wards through which the project passes prioritize the implementation of social housing projects to provide resettlement for the people.
The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested the Department of Construction to guide the adjustment of planning, complete the legal procedures for projects; and send the list of social housing and resettlement projects to the Department of Finance as a basis for allocating public investment capital.
