On December 14th, the Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance (BHXH) announced that in recent times, the work of promoting and encouraging people to participate in family-based health insurance and voluntary social insurance has been widely implemented in Ho Chi Minh City through the cooperation of various organizations and target groups.
This activity plays a crucial role in expanding social security coverage, empowering people to be more proactive in healthcare and securing income in old age.
However, during the implementation process, the Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance agency noted that there were still some cases where employees of organizations supporting the development of target groups requested additional service fees beyond the regulations when guiding people to participate in family health insurance or voluntary social insurance.
This behavior not only infringes upon the legitimate rights of participants but also affects the reputation and trust of the people in the state's social welfare policies.
In response to this situation, the Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance agency has requested organizations supporting the expansion of coverage to strictly comply with legal regulations on social insurance and health insurance contributions.
Accordingly, relevant units and individuals are strictly prohibited from collecting any additional fees, surcharges, or service charges beyond the stipulated amount when guiding people to participate.
Any instances of exploiting propaganda and counseling work for personal gain will be seriously investigated and dealt with according to the law.
The Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance agency also advises people that when participating in family-based health insurance or voluntary social insurance, participants should only pay the exact and full amount according to the registered contribution level and payment method.
Besides this amount, people are not required to pay any other fees. Participants should carefully check their personal information, request a receipt in the standardized form of Vietnam Social Security, and promptly report any illegal collection practices to the Social Security agency.
In the coming period, the Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance agency will continue to strengthen the management and inspection of collection activities of organizations supporting the development of beneficiaries, while promoting communication, transparency, and openness of information to ensure the legitimate rights of citizens and contribute to the effective implementation of social security policies in Ho Chi Minh City.
