Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc has just signed a decision to establish the People's Air Defense Steering Committee (referred to as the Steering Committee).
The Steering Committee has 27 members, headed by Nguyen Van Tho, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. The two deputy heads are Major General Vu Van Dien, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, and Colonel Le Quang Dao, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Police. Other members include leaders of departments and branches.
Also according to the decision, Colonel Phan Quoc Viet, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, will be the Head of the standing agency; Colonel Tran Van Quyet, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, will be the Head of the advisory and support agency.
Ho Chi Minh City People's Air Defense Steering Committee is headed by Permanent Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tho.

The People's Air Defense Steering Committee is responsible for assisting the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and wards, communes, and special zones in organizing, guiding, inspecting, and implementing tasks and activities of the People's Air Defense in the area.
In addition, the Steering Committee drafts and issues documents on directions and tasks of people's air defense; mobilizes people's air defense forces, organizes training, fostering, professional training, and people's air defense drills for subjects; and mobilizes the masses to participate in people's air defense activities.
The Steering Committee operates on a part-time basis. Members perform their duties according to the assignment, operating regulations, and inspection regulations issued by the Head of the Steering Committee.
The establishment of the People's Air Defense Steering Committee aims to specify the provisions of the 2024 People's Air Defense Law and related decrees and circulars.
