Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Tan, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hue City, said that the city has 569 kindergartens and general schools; 37 non-public schools. In the 2024-2025 school year, implementing the 2018 General Education Program at all levels, issued together with Circular No. 32/2018/TT-BGDDT dated December 26, 2018 of the Ministry of Education and Training , schools have proactively developed educational plans suitable to reality, actively innovated assessment and testing in the direction of developing learners' qualities and capacities.
The application of technology in education management and teaching is enhanced with software systems for managing students, teachers, finances, digital learning materials, etc. Thereby gradually modernizing school management in a transparent and professional direction.

One of the highlights is the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam, Hue City ranked 9th out of 34 provinces and cities in terms of average score, with many subjects achieving high results such as Chemistry (ranked 2nd nationwide), Math, Literature, Geography and Physics. The city-wide graduation rate reached 99.05%, of which general education reached 99.65%. This is the result of close guidance, the spirit of innovative teaching methods and the continuous efforts of the teachers and students of the whole city.

In the field of key education, Hue City continues to maintain remarkable achievements. 85/108 students participating in the National Excellent Student Competition won prizes, accounting for 78.7%. There were 2 students winning medals at the International Olympiad, including Silver Medals in Physics and Biology. Notably, Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted - Hue continued to set a record of 3 consecutive years of having students enter the final round of the "Road to Olympia" competition. These results have contributed to raising the position of Hue education on the national and international levels.
However, the education sector still faces some difficulties such as the problem of staffing, many schools lack teachers, national-level facilities, and limited application of information technology.

The Department of Education and Training also emphasized efforts to ensure educational equity for all students, especially in disadvantaged areas. Last school year, Hue City invested about 36 billion VND in educational facilities in disadvantaged areas. Programs such as Enhancing Vietnamese for ethnic minority children before entering grade 1; Supporting preschool education in industrial zones... were implemented synchronously. The rate of qualified and above-standard preschool teachers reached 99.1%, making it one of the localities with a strong team at this level.

In addition, the work of improving the quality of teaching and learning English has also recorded many positive signals. Extracurricular activities such as storytelling, debate, and “Golden Bell” competitions in English have attracted a large number of students to participate. English teachers have been trained in depth through training courses organized by the British Council in collaboration with the University of Manchester and Hue University. Currently, the Department of Education and Training is gradually researching and building a roadmap to make English the second language in schools with conditions.
