Tan An City organizes a singing competition for the five-colored yellow-bellied sunbird.

On April 7, 2024, at Coi Chim Canh Thien Nhien, Ward 4, City. TPTA Cultural, Information and Broadcasting Center in coordination with the Natural Ornamental Bird Club organized the first 5-color Yellow-bellied Sunbird Contest, Tan An City in 2024.

This is the first time the contest has been held in Tan An City, Long An Province and has attracted 120 yellow-bellied sunbirds from the provinces: Ben Tre, Long An, Dong Nai, Ba Ria Vung Tau, Vinh Long, Tien Giang , Lam Dong, Bac Lieu, Ho Chi Minh City...

According to the competition criteria of the contest, all birds are hung on the rack, each bird has a corresponding registration number, the Board of Judges will select and gradually eliminate after each round, to choose birds with beautiful smooth feathers, good singing - screeching voice; beautiful jumping - spreading wings - flapping wings - spreading tails beautifully...

Sunbirds are intelligent and beautifully colored birds. Notably, sunbirds have very clear singing voices and unique dances, creating quite an interesting pastime. To have beautiful birds to participate in exchanges and competitions, the artists had to work hard to domesticate and care for them. The contest is an opportunity for members with the same passion to admire beautiful sunbirds, listen to their singing, watch them open their shells, flap their wings very uniquely, and share experiences in caring for and raising sunbirds.

In recent times, the ornamental movement of Tan An City has grown stronger and stronger, especially for the Yellow-bellied Sunbird Club, which is a new type. Therefore, in the near future, the City will organize group activities and competitions to help members have a useful playground, and share better ways to tame this bird species.

With their experience and impartiality, the judges will select birds with beautiful smooth feathers, singing - chirping with a good voice; jumping beautifully - spreading wings - flapping wings - spreading tails beautifully to award prizes, including 1 First prize, 1 Second prize, 2 Third prizes, 6 Encouragement prizes and 10 prizes for the top 20, 30, 40 and 50. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Artisan of Tay Ninh City won first prize in the 1st 5-color Yellow-bellied Sunbird Contest, Tan An City in 2024.

Previously, the Natural Bird Club, Tan An City, in collaboration with benefactors and artisans, presented 12 bicycles to poor but studious students in Tan An City with a total value of 17,400,000 VND./.
