Ho Chi Minh City plans to announce 10th grade benchmark scores soon

Previously, on June 24, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced the benchmark scores for specialized and integrated 10th grade classes in Ho Chi Minh City. This year's scores fluctuated strongly, in which the entrance score for specialized Physics classes increased the highest by 5.25 points. Meanwhile, the benchmark score for specialized Biology classes decreased across the board, the deepest by 4.25 points.

Many teachers are predicting that the standard scores for 10th grade in Ho Chi Minh City this year will also fluctuate, decreasing evenly, with some schools possibly decreasing by up to 3 points compared to last year.

In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City has 98,681 candidates registering for the 10th grade entrance exam, of which public high schools recruit more than 77,300 candidates.

The exam takes place on June 6-7 with three subjects: Math, Literature (120 minutes) and Foreign Language (90 minutes). Candidates register for specialized classes and take the corresponding additional exam within 150 minutes.

The admission score is the total score of the three subjects Literature, Mathematics, Foreign Language and priority points (if any). Candidates must take all three subjects, not violate the regulations and not receive a failing score (0 points). After the results are announced, candidates are not allowed to change their wishes.

Ho Chi Minh City plans to continue recruiting additional staff.

According to the enrollment plan, depending on the actual application situation at high schools, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will decide on additional enrollment and issue written instructions to ensure the rights of candidates with high exam scores and on the basis of recruiting enough enrollment quotas for schools that are still lacking many quotas.

In 2023, nearly 4,000 candidates passed the entrance exam but did not enroll, Ho Chi Minh City conducted additional recruitment for the first time. As a result, high schools only received 1,014/3,891 additional applications.
