HCMC: Launching a contest on artificial intelligence applications for students at 3 levels

On September 14, the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with KDI Education organized the launching ceremony of the AI Hackathon 2024 Competition with the theme "Protecting the green planet" for primary, secondary and high school students in Ho Chi Minh City.

The contest is organized into 3 groups, in which group A is for primary school students, group B is for secondary school students and group C is for high school students.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Trung, Deputy General Director of KDI Education, member of the organizing committee, shared about the contest rules.

For Group A, contestants use programming languages and artificial intelligence to create smart applications to help protect the environment.

Similarly, with tables B and C, contestants will use artificial intelligence to analyze images from cameras to program robots to solve tasks on the sand table. Students register to compete in teams, each team has a maximum of 3 students, each school registers a maximum of 3 teams.

Sharing at the launching ceremony, Mr. Tran Ninh Dong, Deputy Head of the Department of Intellectual Property Management and Innovation (Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City), said: “The contest is an opportunity for students to share their knowledge and understanding of the fields of STEM, robotics and artificial intelligence, while also practicing creative thinking and problem solving. Through the theme “Protecting the green planet”, the Organizing Committee encourages students to create useful solutions to solve environmental, health, food, clean water, resources and energy problems. This is an opportunity for young people to raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection and the responsibility of each individual in building a safer, greener, cleaner, more beautiful and modern future world”.

Students asked questions about the contest at the launching ceremony.

The best contestants of the contest will have the opportunity to receive a certificate from the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City along with many attractive prizes from the organizing committee and accompanying units with a total value of up to more than 200 million VND.
