Tra Bong evacuated people to safety

On the morning of November 6, the authorities of Tra Bong commune (Quang Ngai province) urgently deployed a plan to evacuate more than 2,000 households with more than 8,000 people in areas at risk of landslides and unstable houses to a safe place before storm No. 13 makes landfall.

In Ka Tinh village, Ho Van Thao and his two children were taken by the support force to the village cultural house to avoid the storm. “To avoid the storm, we moved before the storm arrived, prepared belongings, clothes, food...,” said Thao.

According to Mr. Ho Kim Dung, Chairman of Tra Bong Commune People's Committee, out of more than 2,000 relocated households, 565 households were arranged to be interspersed and 1,548 households were concentrated in safe locations such as schools, cultural houses and solid structures. The locality has arranged transportation to pick up and drop off people from far away, giving priority to the elderly and children.

To ensure people's lives during the storm, Tra Bong commune has stockpiled 72 tons of rice, 200 cartons of instant noodles and 80 cartons of drinking water, ready to distribute to villages when necessary, so that no one goes hungry during the storm.
