In order to diversify tourism products, create highlights, and contribute to increasing the experience for tourists coming to Ninh Binh, Cuc Phuong National Park has built and put into operation the night tour "Watching fireflies and rare animals," helping visitors explore the majestic nature at night, watch wild animals and enjoy the peaceful space at night in the forest.

Cuc Phuong is the first National Park in Vietnam with an area of 22,000 hectares. This is a nature reserve, a special-use forest, located in the territory of 3 provinces of Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh , Thanh Hoa. This place has diverse vegetation with the characteristics of tropical rainforests. In addition, this is also the place where many species of animals and plants at high risk of extinction have been discovered and preserved.

With the goal of developing the multi-purpose value of the forest ecosystem, aiming at ecotourism, helping visitors learn more about the wonders of nature, thereby loving, appreciating and protecting the forest, from the beginning of May 2024, Cuc Phuong National Park has launched a night tour by electric car "Watching fireflies and rare animals."

This night tour is held from around 7pm to 10pm every day of the week. The tour starts from the Children's Experience and Creativity Zone, then visitors will travel by electric car with a guide from Cuc Phuong National Park through the forest trails on a 5km long road.

On this journey, visitors will be immersed in the sparkling scenery of millions of fireflies sparkling in the night. Ms. Vu Phuong Thao, a tourist from Hanoi, said: " Exploring the forest at night is truly a very new experience for me. The air is extremely fresh, especially at night in the forest. If during the day, coming here we can admire the butterflies flying around the space, then at night, we can see the wonderful sparkling fireflies appearing and disappearing. Anyone who comes to Cuc Phuong can feel the pristine beauty of the primeval forest - a feature that no longer exists in many places. I am extremely impressed with Cuc Phuong at night when I can relax and enjoy the fresh air in the middle of the night in the old forest."

During the tour, visitors are also introduced to the animals, rescue work as well as care, conservation and release at Cuc Phuong National Park. In particular, when joining the tour, visitors can also participate in insect-watching activities, learning with experts about diverse and unique insect species in the dark.

Do Khoi Nguyen, from Nam Dinh province, shared: "Before, I only saw animals on TV and in books, but today, I got to learn about and observe with my own eyes the rare and beautiful animals living in Cuc Phuong National Park. I found it very interesting. Through this special tour and study, I gained new experiences and a greater sense of responsibility in protecting the environment and animals and plants."

Possessing a diverse flora and home to many rare wildlife species, Cuc Phuong National Park is an ideal destination for those who want to explore nature. April and May are the most beautiful times of the year in Cuc Phuong with countless colorful butterflies and sparkling fireflies at night. These are the times that attract a lot of tourists to Cuc Phuong.

To ensure quality and balance between tourism development and protection of the natural habitat of flora and fauna, Cuc Phuong National Park has limited the number of participants to a maximum of 100 people/night.
