Special friendly football match at Thong Nhat Stadium

(Dan Tri) - On the afternoon of September 26, a friendly football match between the team of civil servants of Ho Chi Minh City and the team of artists of Ho Chi Minh City took place. This was also a fundraising activity for the people of Cuba.

The match took place at Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC). This is a meaningful activity to celebrate the success of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, and is also a key event in the series of activities to summarize 50 years of Ho Chi Minh City's literature and arts, after the country's reunification. In particular, this match is also an opportunity to mobilize and raise funds to support the Cuban people.

Mr. Tran The Thuan, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that the event not only creates an interesting sports playground, connecting civil servants and artists, but is also an opportunity to mobilize support for the Cuban people in the program "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba friendship".

Through this humanitarian activity is a testament to the solidarity and loyal friendship between the people of Vietnam and Cuba.

The match organizers called on delegates, spectators and people to join hands to contribute and provide more resources for our Cuban friends. By the end of the friendly match, the total amount of donations was 2 billion VND.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada, Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City, said: “I sincerely thank the deep affection, companionship and sharing from organizations, departments and people of Vietnam for Cuba. There is no better way to express the spirit of solidarity and friendship than through culture and sports.”

Although the weather was unfavorable, with heavy rain during the match, it did not dampen the spirit and determination of the participants. The two teams played enthusiastically, fiercely, and with a noble spirit.

True to the meaning of the event, what left a deep impression was the solidarity and sharing among the people of Ho Chi Minh City, the artists and the spirit of international friendship with the Cuban people.
