Martyr Huynh Van Tum joined the revolution at the age of 18, in Company 2, Battalion 512, Long Chau Tien Provincial Military Command. While holding the battle area, comrade Huynh Van Tum heroically sacrificed on April 15, 1975 in Tan Phu commune, Thanh Binh district (now Thanh Binh commune, Dong Thap province).
More than 50 years since the day he sacrificed himself, for various reasons, the Prime Minister has signed a decision to recognize him as a martyr and award the "The Fatherland Honors" certificate to martyr Huynh Van Tum.
Reading the eulogy at the ceremony, Colonel Cao Minh Tam (Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command) affirmed that comrade Huynh Van Tum has passed away, but his revolutionary offensive spirit, lifelong struggle and sacrifice for the revolutionary ideal and the cause of national liberation still live on forever.
Today's generation promises to continue to strengthen solidarity within the Party, vowing to do our best with the spirit of revolutionary attack, overcome difficulties and challenges, determined to build the homeland to become more and more prosperous, and realize the noble ideals that comrades and previous generations have strived and sacrificed for throughout their lives.
