On March 15, a delegation of female cadres of Vinh Long province led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Gender Equality and the Advancement of Women of Vinh Long province, exchanged experiences with the Committee for the Advancement of Women of Son La province and presented gifts to children at the Provincial Social Protection Center.

Receiving and working with the delegation were comrades: Trang Thi Xuan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women; Luong Thi Van Anh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Inspection Committee; Dinh Thi Bich Thao, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Propaganda Department; leaders of provincial departments and branches; comrades who are members of the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women.


In recent years, gender equality and women's advancement activities (WEP) in Son La province have received attention and direction from all levels and sectors. The WEP Committee from the provincial to grassroots levels has been focused on strengthening, and the staff working on gender equality has continued to promote their capacity and responsibility in advising and directing implementation, contributing to improving the effectiveness of gender equality work in the province.

Every year, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee directs the planning of female cadres, associated with training, fostering, using and promoting female cadres; introducing female cadres to participate in the leadership apparatus of the Party and government at all levels. The work of creating female cadres is placed in the general human resource development strategy of Party committees, governments, the Fatherland Front and organizations in the political system of the province. Developing female cadre planning in the overall planning of cadres at each level, each sector, each locality; associated with training, fostering and using cadres. To date, the proportion of female cadres participating in the provincial Party committee accounts for over 20.7%; at the district level over 19%; at the commune level 20.2%.


The two sides exchanged experiences in gender equality work, the effectiveness of the activities of the Committee for the Advancement of Women in the two localities; shared lessons learned; solutions to further enhance gender equality, protect the rights and legitimate interests of women...
On this occasion, the Steering Committee for Gender Equality and Women's Advancement of Vinh Long province presented 102 gifts to children at the provincial Social Protection Center.
