Experts share the operating principles of the saline water filtration system.

The solar-powered saline water filtration system has a capacity of 6,000 liters of clean water per day, meeting the domestic water needs of many households in the saline intrusion area in Hoa Tien commune. The saline water filtration system is sponsored by Keppel Vietnam, with a cost of about 300 million VND.

Hoa Tien Commune is one of the localities in the province that is often heavily affected by saltwater intrusion in the dry season. According to the leaders of Hoa Tien Commune, every year the commune lacks clean water for daily life and cooking because the underground water source is increasingly contaminated with alum and salt. Using unsanitary water sources can affect the health of the people. Therefore, the installation of a system to filter salty water into clean water at the People's Committee of Hoa Tien Commune is of great significance in providing clean water to the people in the area.

Many delegates attended the ceremony to present the saline water filtration system.

Speaking at the donation ceremony, Mr. Joseph Low, President of Real Estate, Keppel Vietnam, said: This year, the Living Well program brings two solar-powered saline water purification systems with a total capacity of producing 12,000 liters of clean water per day (6,000 liters of water/machine), meeting the daily needs of more than 18,000 people in Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces (one machine per province); these are two localities that are heavily affected by drought and salinity intrusion. Since its inception in 2022, the Living Well program has contributed to bringing clean water to about 88,000 people in 6 provinces in the Mekong Delta. Thereby, it contributes to promoting the community's adaptability and resilience to the impacts of climate change, especially drought and salinity.

People directly receive clean water to use after the saline water filtration system has finished processing.
