Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital has just successfully organized the 13th Anniversary Ceremony of the Reproductive Support Department (2012-2025) and the Summary of the program "Golden Week - Nurturing Happiness 2025" with the theme "Golden opportunity for the dream of finding a beloved child".
The program is a meaningful reunion of hundreds of couples who have been successfully treated at the hospital, where they not only return to say thank you to the doctors, but also to inspire the infertility community with their own stories of "finding children".
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tham (1985) and Mr. Chu Van Cau (1984) from My Duc, Hanoi, were infertile for 13 years trying to find a child. They got married in 2009, and 2 years later, Mr. Cau went to the doctor and found out that he was infertile. Seven years passed with too much pressure from society and from Mr. Cau's own deadlocked mentality, in 2016, the couple had to stop this marriage even though they still loved each other very much.
In 2019, they accidentally met again in Ho Chi Minh City and they got back together, continuing to nurture the dream of having a "beloved child" with new hope. Also in that year, Ms. Tham read an article about the opportunity to have a "genuine" child thanks to modern andrology methods at the Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital.
But it was not until 3 years later, on the occasion of Golden Week - Nurturing Happiness in 2022, that Ms. Tham and Mr. Cau fully prepared the procedures to go to the hospital and begin the IVF process.

The family of Mr. Chu Van Cau and Ms. Nguyen Thi Tham (Hanoi) emotionally shared about their journey to find their child. |
After the procedure, Mr. Cau was selected by the doctor for many sperms. In 2023, after 2 embryo transfers, the couple officially reached the position of parents, a "little angel" was born, marking the end of the couple's 13-year journey of infertility.
Besides the decades-long story of Ms. Tham and Mr. Cau's search for a child, the journey to find healthy children of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Oanh (1994) and Mr. Nguyen Quang Thanh (1994) in Thanh Tri, Hanoi is also extremely difficult due to the influence of the genetic disease renal tubular dysplasia.

The couple Nguyen Thi Hong Oanh (1994) and Nguyen Quang Thanh (1994) happily welcomed their baby. |
Before reaching their dream of having a healthy baby, Ms. Oanh and Mr. Thanh had to go through two extremely painful pregnancies when they had to terminate their pregnancies at the 11th and 28th weeks due to homozygous mutations in the kidney disease gene (ACE gene).
Fortunately, a year later, the couple happened to learn about the free testing program for embryos carrying rare disease genes within the framework of the Golden Week 2023 of the Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital. Oanh and her husband decided to go to the hospital for examination and submit their application for approval for the program. After more than a month of waiting, the couple was overwhelmed with happiness when they were one of 20 families to receive this free support package, hope rekindled after a series of gloomy and fearful days.
In October 2023, Ms. Oanh had her embryo transferred by the doctor with the firm belief that this time her baby would come safely to the family. Finally, the efforts, hopes and beliefs of Ms. Oanh and Mr. Thanh were duly rewarded when now in their family home there is a lovely baby who is about to turn 1 year old.
