Deploying preparations for the 2025 Standing Militia Ship Sports Festival

Attending were Colonel Tran Van Cu, Deputy Commander of Ho Chi Minh City Command; representatives of functional agencies of the two units and commanders of the forces and ships of the Standing Militia participating in the competition and sports festival.

At the conference, delegates listened to reports and discussed coordination, preparation of facilities, equipment, training grounds, safety plans, logistics, techniques and content of organizing competitions and sports events.

This year, the test and assessment contents focus on theory and practice of maritime specialties, ship formation mobilization, handling situations at sea, search and rescue, use of weapons, equipment, information equipment and maritime signals.

The working group surveyed the area where the competition and sports festival were held.

Notably, the practical training program will be deployed with the following subjects: formation maneuvers, navigation, handling rescue situations, fire prevention and fighting, oil spill response, live ammunition testing and command and information coordination between ships and shore command centers. The activity aims to assess the actual training results, the level of mastery of weapons, equipment and the coordination ability of the Standing Militia force in performing the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

In his speech, Colonel Trieu Thanh Tung emphasized that the contest and sports festival of the Standing Militia Ship is an important occasion to comprehensively examine and evaluate the training quality, combat readiness and sense of responsibility of officers and soldiers.

He requested units to continue reviewing and perfecting plans, supplementing training content to suit practical conditions; ensuring absolute safety for people, vehicles and equipment during training, maneuvering and competition.

After the conference, the Ho Chi Minh City Command's Union came down to inspect the actual preparations on the ships participating in the competition and sports festival. Through the inspection, it was found that Brigade 171 had prepared well the training content for the ship crews according to the instructions; strictly maintained the discipline, regime and regulations in training work; preserved and repaired the ships and carefully prepared for the competition and sports festival.

Concluding the inspection, Colonel Tran Van Cu, Deputy Commander of Ho Chi Minh City, commended and acknowledged the efforts and high sense of responsibility of Brigade 171 and the Standing Militia Squadron in training and preparing to participate in competitions and sports; especially the leadership, direction, organization of training, inspection, and live ammunition firing were carried out seriously, methodically, and in accordance with regulations, contributing to improving the level and combat readiness of the Standing Militia force of Ho Chi Minh City.

The Deputy Commander of the City also requested that in the coming time, Brigade 171 and the Standing Militia Squadron continue to do a good job of preparation, increase additional training, supplementary training and guidance for standing militia ship crews; focus on doing a good job of preparing means, weapons, equipment, ensuring absolute safety in training and striving to achieve the highest results in competitions and sports events in 2025.
