Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong spoke at the meeting.

Attending the meeting were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Suu, Deputy Director of the Academy of Public Administration and Management, Head of the working delegation; Ms. Karen Louise Dalkie, Deputy Director of Development and Partnerships for CanadianEducation, and representatives of relevant departments and branches.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Suu said that the working trip aimed to learn about the reality and orientation of socio -economic development of Hue City, and at the same time survey the need to improve the capacity of cadres and civil servants in the context of restructuring and streamlining the administrative apparatus.

According to Ms. Karen Louise Dalkie, the “Inclusive Local Governance” project funded by the Government of Canada, implemented by the Academy of Public Administration and Management in 6 provinces and cities of Vietnam, including Hue . The project aims to improve the effectiveness of public service administration, strengthen leadership capacity, especially develop a team of female leaders in the future, thereby promoting community participation, especially disadvantaged groups, in public administration.

The Canadian expert delegation and the Academy of Public Administration and Management took a souvenir photo with city leaders after the working session.

At the meeting, the parties discussed many issues related to administrative reform, streamlining the apparatus, digital transformation and improving the quality of public services in the locality. Representatives of departments and branches of Hue City clarified the issues of concern to the delegation, and shared the reform orientation and innovation efforts of the city in recent times.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized that the project was implemented at the right time, in line with the urgent requirements in the administrative reform process. Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong expected that the project would contribute to improving public administration capacity, promoting sustainable development and building a modern, professional and inclusive administration.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee also requested that the project focus on integrating contents suitable to the local development strategy, especially specific mechanisms and solutions to support the private economic sector. Hue City committed to closely coordinate to effectively implement this project.
