Implementing the Law on Water Resources 2023 effectively and efficiently

On the afternoon of July 17, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment organized a scientific workshop, training, and dissemination of tasks and solutions to effectively implement the Law on Water Resources 2023, documents detailing a number of articles of this law, and respond to the risk of drought, water shortage, and saltwater intrusion in Da Nang city.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Hong An said that the Law on Water Resources 2023 (effective from July 1, 2024) has institutionalized many important and breakthrough contents towards water resources being managed as public assets owned by the entire people, represented by the State as the owner and uniformly managed, in order to ensure national water security... The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has issued 3 circulars detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Water Resources; inspecting compliance with the law on water resources and appraising and accepting the results of basic water resources investigation activities; moving, changing the location, and dissolving underground water resources monitoring stations.

For Da Nang city, water is not only a resource but also an important resource for socio -economic development. The People's Committee of Da Nang city has issued a plan to implement the Law on Water Resources in 2023; directed agencies, units and localities to review and develop documents to implement this law; disseminate and train on the Law on Water Resources in 2023 and documents guiding its implementation.
