This morning, October 8, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs cited information from the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel saying that the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian territories has become more complicated in recent days. Violence has caused hundreds of casualties.

Faced with that situation, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel has implemented many citizen protection measures and recommended and guided measures to ensure security and safety for citizens, and provided contact information when necessary.

Along with that, this agency has assigned staff to be on duty, keeping in regular contact with the Vietnamese community in Israel to continuously update information; closely coordinating with local authorities and diplomatic missions in the area to jointly deploy citizen protection measures.

"So far, the situation of Vietnamese citizens, including the Vietnamese community in Israel, officials on business trips and Vietnamese tourists, remains safe," the Embassy informed.

Following the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel continues to closely monitor the situation, maintain regular contact with the Vietnamese community, develop citizen protection plans appropriate to the developments of the conflict, and protect the safety of Vietnamese citizens.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Vietnamese citizens temporarily avoid areas where conflicts occur. Vietnamese citizens in the area should closely monitor the situation; proactively take necessary security and safety measures; strictly comply with local government regulations, avoid gathering in large numbers, and limit travel.

When in need of assistance, people can immediately contact the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel at the following phone numbers: 972-50-818-6116 and +972-52-727-4248, +972-50-994-0889. Or the Citizen Protection Hotline of the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs at +84 981 84 84 84.

Earlier, early on October 7 (local time), Hamas launched a major attack on Israel, launching dozens of rockets from Gaza, as well as attacking border checkpoints and infiltrating multiple locations across southern Israel. The attack came after weeks of heightened tensions along Israel's volatile border with the Gaza Strip and after fierce fighting in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

At least 300 Israelis were killed and more than 1,500 injured. The Israeli government declared a state of war, ordered the mobilization of its reserves and pledged to "wipe out" Hamas to ensure the country's security, and responded with devastating retaliatory attacks on Gaza, killing more than 230 Palestinians and injuring at least 1,700.
