
The resettlement site for people affected by natural disasters in Sang Ma Sao is being built in Ma Mu Su 1 village, Sang Ma Sao commune, Bat Xat district. On a land area of over 3.5 hectares, the construction unit will build 60 houses designed in the traditional architecture of the Mong people.

The resettlement site was built with support from the Ministry of National Defense , the Military Region 2 Command was assigned as the investor, and the construction unit was the 789 Corporation - Ministry of National Defense.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Sang Ma Sao commune, the flood in September 2024 affected 22 households, of which 5 houses completely collapsed, 17 houses were damaged from 30% - 70%, estimated damage of nearly 3 billion VND; 268 households were at risk of landslides with 1,607 people.
Immediately after the storm and flood passed, the local Party Committee and government actively took action, mobilizing all resources to focus on finding land to rebuild houses for people, urgently restoring production, and stabilizing people's lives.

Comrade Vuong Manh Phu, Party Secretary of Sang Ma Sao commune, said that most of the commune's natural area is high mountains and fragmented terrain, so finding land to build houses for people, especially large plots of land to build concentrated resettlement areas, is very difficult.
