Exhibition "Fertility Space" by female sculptor Luu Thanh Lan

Previously, in 2022, she had her first solo exhibition called "Spring Dream" displaying more than 100 works at the Exhibition House 16 Ngo Quyen, Hanoi .

In 2024, the female artist also released the book "Sculpture of Luu Thanh Lan" which compiled 200 artworks, which is also a narrative about her endless creative journey.

If in her first solo exhibition, artist Luu Thanh Lan introduced all the works accumulated in her 30 years of work as a report on her artistic process through products, then in this exhibition, she chose works with realistic themes and emotional experiences.

These are works with themes of family happiness, love between couples, motherhood, praising the beauty of Vietnamese women... expressed in a modern style, mainly exploiting the movement of shapes to approach the content.

The image of Vietnamese women with a slim figure has always fascinated and captured Luu Thanh Lan’s mind. She longs to express that beauty not only in daily life but also in love, motherhood and happy family moments.

Her works about women are mostly nude, but not naked. On the contrary, they are carefully selected and carved to create a very delicate beauty.

The theme of a mother with the idea of ​​strength to protect the family, boundless love for her children is the theme throughout most of her works. The image of a mother can be seen in many of her works: "Mother's love", "Love story", "Mother and child", "Mother's spring", "Warm home", "Happiness", "Small steps into life", "Childhood", "You are spring"...

Copper is her favorite material because of its durability and soft shine, very suitable for compositions about women.

Therefore, the bronze material flows in the female sculptor's works like fish in water, bustling in every block, flexible in every detail, as can be seen in the works: "Tide", "Lullaby of Spring", "Summer", "Symphony", "Chorus", "Flower Shape", "Garden House"...

With over 30 years of dedication to art, in a harsh field that few female artists pursue, Luu Thanh Lan has affirmed her solid position thanks to her talent, perseverance and passion.

After 3 years of exploring and discovering her own emotions, sculptor Luu Thanh Lan continues to introduce to art lovers her second solo exhibition with nearly 100 works and a collection of works including reliefs and round statues with materials: bronze, wood, ceramic. These are the latest works created by the female artist from 2023 to present.
