Exhibition, display and introduction of books in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2024

In response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2024, the Department of Information and Communications organized an exhibition, display, and introduction of books with contents, topics, and fields suitable for all audiences and classes of people, attracting the attention and participation of many units and readers.

Mr. Pham Quoc Chinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications, said: In 2014, the Prime Minister signed a Decision to make April 21 every year Vietnam Book Day. This year, the Ministry of Information and Communications directed to focus on organizing activities for Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day from April 15, 2024 to May 1, 2024, with the message: "Good books need readers", "Precious books for friends", "Give good books - Buy real books", "Good books: Eyes to read - Ears to listen. The Department of Information and Communications coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department ofEducation and Training, Provincial Youth Union, Provincial Journalists Association to organize exhibitions, displays, and book introductions in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2024.

In addition, the Department also promotes propaganda to raise awareness of officials and people about the importance of reading books; introduces and honors typical examples of collecting, researching, composing, publishing, printing, distributing and promoting books on mass media; posts infographics on websites and social networks to create community effects; hangs billboards, posters, and banners with visual propaganda slogans on the main roads of the City.

This year's book exhibition and introduction takes place for 4 days, from April 19, 2024 to April 22, 2024, at Vincom Plaza Son La . At the exhibition space, there are 9 display booths with over 10,000 books with rich and diverse content, such as: Propaganda of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; books by President Ho Chi Minh and other Party and State leaders; history, economics, politics , culture, society, security and defense of the country and the province; introducing the beauty of culture and people of ethnic groups in the province; books serving teaching and learning in schools, children's comics... serving the needs of all classes of people in the area.

In particular, this year's book exhibition and display is combined with the goal of digital transformation, such as: Direct book fair combined with cashless payment, e-book exhibition, introduction of online book fair on online book trading floor books365.vn.

Through the exhibition materials, it contributes to affirming the role, significance and mission of books in preserving progress, culture, civilization and the historical development of human beings, as well as being a source of providing and disseminating knowledge. Encourage the reading movement and raise awareness of cadres, civil servants, public employees, teachers, students and people in the province about the significance of reading to improve knowledge, skills and develop thinking.

At this book exhibition, there are many books written about Uncle Ho. The exhibition also has many genres of books and photos that are very rich and useful. I hope that book exhibitions will be organized more often to contribute to spreading the reading culture among all classes of people, especially students.
