Trieu Phong diversifies economic models associated with new rural construction

Currently, many localities in Trieu Phong district have flexibly applied new economic models associated with restructuring crops and livestock, developing cooperative economies, applying high technology, organic agriculture, linking production with processing and product consumption...

Along with that, rural service economic models, traditional craft villages... are also being effectively exploited, creating more jobs and income for people. Thanks to that, agricultural production in the area has achieved many important achievements, the locality has effectively implemented the Agricultural Restructuring Project, many effective production models have been formed and replicated.

There are many models of linking production with product consumption for high income such as organic rice production model, high-quality rice, intensive farming model of black tiger shrimp, white-leg shrimp, high-tech pig and chicken farming models...

Production organization has received attention and development. Many cooperatives, especially those in the agricultural sector, have been established and operated effectively and stably, making important contributions to socio-economic development, helping to solve employment problems, improve income, and support poor and near-poor households to become well-off and rich.

The rice production model following the natural farming direction was implemented in 4 communes of Trieu Trung, Trieu Son (old), Trieu Tai, Trieu Trach with an area of ​​61 hectares by Trieu Phong Clean Agricultural Products Cooperative (HTX) in association with production and product consumption with production groups in the 4 communes, of which 11 hectares of the Cooperative have been certified to meet national organic agricultural standards.

During the process of formation and development, Trieu Phong Clean Agricultural Products Cooperative has gradually built its brand and has a stable consumption market. Currently, the Cooperative has signed contracts to sell products to the Coop.mart supermarket system, store systems and other distribution channels in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hanoi and many provinces and cities in the Central region.

In particular, the organic rice product of Trieu Phong Clean Agricultural Products Cooperative won First Prize at the Exhibition of Environmentally Friendly Natural Farming Products in Seoul - Korea in 2017.

Along with rice production, many effective economic models have contributed significantly to improving income for people in rural areas of Trieu Phong. A typical example is the organic orange growing model with a scale of 3 hectares of Bui Quang Huyen's household, Trieu Thuong commune, with an output of 45 tons/year, revenue of 900 million VND, profit of 300 million VND/year.

The high-tech chicken farming, mushroom and medicinal plant growing model of Mr. Pham Hoa, Duong Dai Thuan village, Trieu Thuan commune with a scale of 2.7 hectares, in association with Japfa Vietnam Company, has a profit of 1 billion VND/year, creating regular jobs for 5 workers with a salary of 6-9 million VND/person/month.

Or the broiler farming model linked to production with Mr. Phan Ngoc Tam's Joint Stock Company, Phuong An village, Trieu Son commune (old) with a scale of 60,000 chickens/batch, 3 batches/year, average profit of 1.2 billion VND/year, creating jobs for 9 regular workers, income of 8 million VND/person/month.

The organic chicken farming model of Ms. Phan Thi Kim Chi, Trieu Thuong commune with a scale of 700 chickens/batch, profit of 80-100 million VND/year. This is a farming model using biological bedding and microbial products, organic feed to contribute to environmental protection, ensuring food safety. The high-tech sow and pork farming model of Mr. Tran Cong Vu, Trieu Son commune (old), with a scale of 30 sows, from 150-200 porkers/batch, profit of 420 million VND/year, creating regular jobs for 3 workers with an income of 6-8 million VND/person/month.

The model of snails lining the coastal area of ​​Mr. Tran Xuan Quy, Village 6, Trieu Lang Commune with a scale of 6 hectares, profits more than 1 billion VND/year. The model of raising whiteleg shrimp in the estuary area according to the water circulation process of Mr. Tran Quang Dung, Village Luong Kim, Trieu Phuoc Commune with a scale of 1.2 hectares. With modern technology, water is taken from the supply ditch through a filter tube with a 2-layer filter bag, used to store water and naturally self-clean to ensure maximum limitation of pathogens from the water supply source, an average harvest of 4.5 tons/year, profits of 500 million VND/year...

From diverse economic models, many rural areas in Trieu Phong district have prospered, people's lives have improved day by day, the average income in rural areas has continuously increased over the years. Up to now, Trieu Phong district has reached the finish line of a new rural district, 5 communes have met the advanced new rural standards, 9 villages have met the model new rural standards, 16 gardens have been recognized as model gardens. Trieu Phong district has a specific plan to continue to consolidate, maintain and improve the quality of the new rural district criteria.

Reality shows that where the rural economic model is well organized, diverse and flexible, farmers are attached to their fields, their lives are stable, and the community develops. Diversifying economic models is not only an inevitable trend but also an urgent requirement to concretize the goal of building advanced and model new rural areas.

The diversity and effectiveness of economic models associated with the construction of new rural areas in Trieu Phong district have contributed significantly to improving people's lives, developing socio-economics and building sustainable new rural areas. This is a testament to the efforts and determination of the government and people of Trieu Phong district in the cause of rural innovation and development.
