Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy won Asian gold medals.

Shooting duo Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy entered the final round of the 10m mixed team pistol event at the 2025 Asian Shooting Cup. The opponents of the two Vietnamese athletes were shooters from Indonesia.

After 5 rounds, the Vietnamese team was behind 0-10 and only really came back when coach Tran Quoc Cuong used the time-out. After that, Pham Quang Huy and Trinh Thu Vinh turned the situation around and maintained their form to win the final 17-13.

This is the second time the duo Thu Vinh and Quang Huy have won a gold medal at the Asian Shooting Cup. Previously, they also won the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the 2024 tournament in Jakarta (Indonesia).

Thu Vinh and Quang Huy are both top shooters in Vietnam. Thu Vinh finished fourth at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Meanwhile, Quang Huy won a gold medal at the 2023 Asian Games.

The Vietnamese shooting team will continue to enter the qualifying round of the 10m individual pistol event this afternoon.

The 2025 Asian Shooting Cup will take place from February 9 to 22 in Thailand. The tournament will feature 319 athletes from 24 countries. Vietnam will have 18 shooters competing in this year’s tournament. This will be the first tournament in 2025 for the Vietnamese shooting team.
