Referee Szymon Marciniak has many controversial decisions.

In an interview with El Cairo News , Marciniak said Barcelona's comments about refereeing were "absolutely ridiculous".

"What can I say about those silly comments? I did not make a decision that harmed anyone," UEFA's top referee declared, when asked about the statements of coach Hansi Flick and some Barcelona players after the match.

Marciniak became the center of controversy after the second leg of the Champions League semi-final between Inter and Barca. Coach Hansi Flick said that the Polish referee repeatedly blew the whistle against Barcelona in unclear situations. Typically, this referee blew a penalty for Pau Cubarsi after the young midfielder tackled Lautaro Martinez in the Barcelona penalty area.

Mr Marciniak and the VAR team also received criticism when they were accused of missing Denzel Dumfries' foul on Gerard Martin, before the Inter player made the pass for the equalizer at 3-3 at the end of the match.

Referee Marciniak also confirmed that he is ready to face a lawsuit from Barcelona, when it was reported that the Catalan team would send a complaint to UEFA about the referee's decisions after the second leg of the semi-final.
