On the morning of May 8, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) - the organizing committee of V-League 2024-2025, announced the list of foreign referees on duty in round 22 of V-League 2024-2025.
Specifically, two Malaysian FIFA referees, Tuan Mohd Yaasin and Muhamad Izzul, will officiate and be in charge of VAR in the match between Nam Dinh and Thanh Hoa clubs, taking place at 6 p.m. on May 11 at Thien Truong Stadium.
If they win this match, Nam Dinh FC will continue to move closer to defending the V-League championship. Because of the schedule of the final rounds, coach Vu Hong Viet and his team will not have to face many strong opponents.
Mr. Tuan Mohd Yaasin is a FIFA Elite level referee who is no stranger to the V-League as he has officiated matches in the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Meanwhile, Mr. Muhammad Izzul has just officiated the Hanoi - Nam Dinh match (0-3) in round 21 of this season.
The second match using foreign referees is the match between SHB Da Nang - Quy Nhon Binh Dinh, taking place at 6pm on May 10 at Tam Ky Stadium. This match will be officiated by FIFA referee Wiwat Jumpaoon of Thailand.
This match is considered as a "reverse final" between two teams at the bottom of the rankings. Currently, SHB Da Nang is at the bottom of the table with only 14 points, right above is Quy Nhon Binh Dinh with 19 points, not too far from the top group.
Mr. Wiwat Jumpaoon is no stranger to Vietnamese football as he has officiated matches for the Vietnamese national team and a V-League match between Binh Dinh and Hanoi (4-2) in the 2023-2024 season.
