(Live) Thousands of people crowded into Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square.

The Hanoi People's Committee announced that for New Year's Day 2025, the city will have 5 locations with 6 firing sites for both high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks displays.

The fireworks display will include a total of 3,600 high-altitude fireworks, with 600 at each location; and 540 low-altitude fireworks displays, with 90 at each location. The duration of the display will be 15 minutes, from 0:00 to 0:15 on January 1, 2025.

Hoan Kiem District has two battlegrounds: one in front of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper headquarters and the other in front of the Hanoi Post Office .

Battlefield No. 3 is in Nam Tu Liem District (F1 racetrack area, Phu Do Ward). Battlefield No. 4 is in Ha Dong District (at Ho Van Quan Lake, Van Quan Ward). Battlefield No. 5 is in Son Tay Town (at Son Tay Ancient Citadel). Battlefield No. 6 is in Dong Anh District (at Dong Anh District Sports Center).

The Hanoi People's Committee has instructed relevant units to closely supervise patrol and guard duties, maintain security and social order, prevent fires and explosions, and ensure absolute safety before, during, and after fireworks displays at all locations.

Hanoi police were tasked with developing plans and strategies to ensure security, social order, and traffic safety; specifically, guiding and managing traffic flow around the fireworks display area; facilitating the access of vehicles transporting fireworks and technical equipment to the site; and ensuring sufficient personnel and equipment for fire prevention and firefighting in the fireworks display area, ready to handle any emergencies.

The New Year's Eve Countdown program for 2025 will take place at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and the August Revolution Square area in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.

The stage setup and dress rehearsal for the show have been completed, and all the equipment, machinery, and personnel are ready.

The Hoan Kiem District Police proactively developed plans to prevent stampedes, fires, and other disruptive and illegal activities; at the same time, they deployed forces to manage traffic flow from a distance and arranged parking areas for the public.

Some streets around Hoan Kiem Lake will be narrowed to make way for fire trucks and ambulances.

In addition, the Hoan Kiem District Police also deployed plainclothes police officers to patrol and monitor the area where the events were held to prevent and deter illegal activities such as theft and pickpocketing.

Hanoi police will deploy more than 30 checkpoints, including special checkpoints to prevent stampedes, crowding, pushing, and unexpected incidents during Countdown events.

In addition, Hanoi Police will deploy more Task Force 141 teams to promptly suppress and handle individuals who disrupt public order, especially young people.

Besides Hanoi, many provinces and major cities across the country also organized programs to welcome the new year 2025.

Ho Chi Minh City will have fireworks displays at one high-altitude location and two low-altitude locations.

High-altitude fireworks will be launched at the entrance to the Saigon River tunnel (Mai Chi Tho Street, Thu Duc City). Two low-altitude fireworks displays will be held at Dam Sen Cultural Park (Ward 3, District 11) and Van Phuc urban area (Hiep Binh Phuoc Ward, Thu Duc City).

Besides the fireworks display, tonight in Ho Chi Minh City there will also be two large-scale music festivals held along the Saigon River, including the Countdown event on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street (District 1) and the Saigon riverside park (Thu Duc City, near Ba Son bridge).

Thua Thien Hue province will hold high-altitude fireworks displays to welcome the new year at four locations, including the center of Hue city and the districts of A Luoi, Phu Loc, and Phong Dien.

Besides the fireworks display, many other activities celebrating the New Year are taking place in Thua Thien Hue province with the theme "Celebrating the country's renewal, celebrating the glorious Party, celebrating the Year of the Snake 2025".

Hai Phong will hold one low-altitude fireworks display at the City Theater, Tran Hung Dao Street, Hong Bang District.

Thanh Hoa province will hold a fireworks display to welcome the New Year 2025 at the Lam Son Square monument area in Thanh Hoa City.

In Kien Giang , the highlight of the 2025 New Year's Eve celebration will be in Phu Quoc, with a series of events such as fireworks displays, countdowns, and a grand music festival…
