The exhibition is held to celebrate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025). This is an activity to promote the role of the museum in propaganda, education of historical and cultural traditions and community connection. At the same time, it shows deep gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of heroes and martyrs in the cause of national liberation.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi An, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, shared that through 78 sketches by artists who directly participated in the battle at the Zone V battlefield, especially the works of martyr, artist Ha Xuan Phong and the late artist Nguyen Duc Hanh, the exhibition has brought a simple yet profound artistic space.
“Each sketch is like a piece of memory, a slice of history, marking true moments of life on the battlefield. Where patriotism, courage and the desire for peace are expressed vividly, touchingly and humanely,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi An added.

The sketch exhibition “Memories of the battlefield in Zone V” at the Monument to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers will introduce 78 sketches of martyrs, painters Ha Xuan Phong and the late painter Nguyen Duc Hanh, along with a number of painters who fought in the battlefield in Zone 5.
