It is forecasted that in the next 24 to 48 hours (May 20 and 21), the heat wave will continue to expand and increase in intensity in this area.

Specifically, from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen , it is common to have hot weather with the highest temperature during the day reaching 35-36 degrees Celsius, some places can exceed 37 degrees Celsius. The lowest relative humidity during the day fluctuates between 50%-55%, causing a feeling of stuffiness and dryness.

The meteorological agency warned that this heat wave is likely to last until May 22, then gradually ease.

It is forecasted that due to the return of hot weather, the demand for electricity will increase sharply and humidity will be low, the risk of fires in residential areas, electrical equipment fires and forest fires is very high.

People need to be on guard against phenomena such as dehydration, exhaustion, and heat stroke (especially for people working outdoors for long periods of time).

Actual outdoor temperature may be 2-4 degrees Celsius higher than forecast, or even exceed the threshold if in areas with many heat-absorbing surfaces such as concrete and asphalt.
