Duong Xuan Ha communal house, Thuy Xuan ward is closely associated with the formation and development of Duong Xuan Ha village. This is not only a place for traditional cultural and spiritual activities of the people, but also a valuable historical relic, closely related to the patriotic and revolutionary struggles of the heroic Thuy Xuan commune, now Thuy Xuan ward. Duong Xuan Ha communal house was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a provincial historical relic (event memorial) according to Decision No. 410 dated February 26, 2015.
Over time, Duong Xuan Ha communal house has degraded and been damaged, so in August 2023, Hue City People's Committee invested funds to dismantle and restore the relic. Accordingly, Duong Xuan Ha communal house was restored with a budget of nearly 5.7 billion VND from the state budget, ward budget and other mobilized sources. The main items to be repaired and prevented from deterioration include: Restoring, embellishing and reconstructing the entire main communal house, left wing, right wing, 2 shrines to their original state; preventing termites in the entire area. At the same time, reinforcing, cleaning and restoring the Am Linh shrine, screen, pillars to their original state; paving the front yard of the communal house, and steps leading up to it.
According to the leaders of Hue City People's Committee, the investment in the restoration and embellishment of Duong Xuan Ha communal house contributes to limiting the degradation of the relic, preserving and conserving the traditional cultural and historical values of our ancestors, meeting the cultural and religious needs of local people.
An Cuu communal house (lane 33 An Duong Vuong, Hue city) was recognized by the provincial People's Committee as a provincial-level revolutionary historical relic in 2008. The communal house was built in a unique traditional style and is highly appreciated for its architectural art. However, for many years now, the communal house has limited community cultural activities because the entire roof system has been damaged, many tiles have fallen and sagged; most of the wooden structures have rotted; the walls are leaky, moldy, rotten and peeling off in large patches; the gate and walls are cracked...
Through surveying and studying the current status, in 2023, Hue City invested in a project to preserve, renovate and restore the An Cuu communal house relic. The investment scale includes repairing and preventing deterioration of the main communal house and vestibule, dismantling damaged items of the communal house; renovating and restoring the entire communal house to its original state; preventing termites, waterproofing, and flooding in the communal house area; investing in lighting and fire protection systems to ensure usage needs and technical requirements. The project has a total investment of 9.8 billion VND, implemented in 2 years 2023 - 2024 from the State budget.
Currently, there are 138 communal houses in the city. In 2023, Hue City invested more than 26 billion VND to renovate and embellish 4 communal houses, including: Duong Xuan Ha communal house (Thuy Xuan ward), Kim Long communal house (Kim Long ward), Xuan Hoa communal house (Huong Long ward) and An Cuu communal house (An Cuu ward). Currently, 2 communal houses have completed the restoration (Kim Long communal house and Xuan Hoa communal house), the remaining 2 communal houses have completed the final items of the project to put into use.
The city has been conducting a survey of the current status, continuing to prepare a dossier to propose investment policies and restore historical and cultural relics in general and communal houses in particular. At the same time, it is surveying the current status, making a plan to mark the protected area of relics at relics directly managed by the city. After the relics are restored and restored, it will study the organization of cultural and tourism activities at the relics to promote the value of the relics in the area.
