Head of the Central External Relations Commission receives Secretary General of the ruling CNDD-FDD Party in Burundi

On the afternoon of July 29, in Hanoi , Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung received Mr. Révérien Ndikuriyo, General Secretary of the ruling National Council for the Defense of Democracy - Forces for the Defense of Democracy (CNDD-FDD) Party in Burundi, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

Secretary General Révérien Ndikuriyo respectfully thanked Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung for taking the time to welcome him; conveyed the warm regards and deep condolences from the leaders of the CNDD-FDD Party and the Government of Burundi to the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam on the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; and highly appreciated the important contributions of the General Secretary to the revolutionary cause of the Vietnamese people and progressive people around the world .

The Burundian leaders also expressed their admiration and congratulated Vietnam on the great and historic achievements it has made after nearly 40 years of renovation under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam ; informed about the situation of the CNDD-FDD Party, and the economic and social achievements that Burundi has achieved in recent times.

At the same time, he hopes to build friendly and cooperative relations with the Communist Party of Vietnam, creating a favorable foundation to strengthen cooperative relations between Burundi and Vietnam.

With sincere thanks for the condolences and sincere sentiments of the CNDD-FDD Party, the Government and people of Burundi, Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung congratulated the achievements that Burundi has achieved under the leadership of the CNDD-FDD Party in stabilizing the political arena, developing the economy, promoting education, health care and international integration.

Mr. Le Hoai Trung affirmed that Vietnam and traditional friends in Africa, including Burundi, share many similarities in the struggle for national liberation and development, which are favorable conditions for deepening friendship and substantive cooperation.

Mr. Le Hoai Trung emphasized that the development of relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the CNDD-FDD Party will orient and contribute to expanding bilateral relations between the two countries in the fields of politics, economics, trade, and people-to-people exchange.

At the same time, he proposed that the Burundian Government facilitate Viettel Telecom Industry Group to operate stably in Burundi, becoming a model for Vietnamese enterprises to expand their business in Burundi and the African market.

The two sides also agreed to promote relations between the two parties and countries through increasing the exchange of high-level delegations; sharing experiences in party building and national development; continuing to coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums; creating favorable conditions for trade and market research activities; organizing cultural, sports and tourism exchange activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025./.
