Information from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy: The recently published AppliedHE 2026 ranking for public universities in Asia has placed Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in the 191-200 group in Asia, 60th out of 115 in Southeast Asia, and 6th out of 16 in Vietnam.
In Vietnam's healthcare sector, the ranking includes Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Hanoi University of Medicine.
Being ranked in the 191-200 group marks the completion of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy's strategic goal by 2025, becoming a national key university and being among the prestigious higher education institutions in the region, thereby demonstrating its efforts in innovation, integration, and sustainable development in accordance with the set direction.
AppliedHE, operated by the Singapore Educational Technology Organization since 2021, evaluates universities based on two data sources: data self-reported by the educational institutions based on eight criteria (academic staff, students, internationalization, employment outcomes, etc.) and external data independently verified by AppliedHE, including the institution's official Google Scholar profile, employer reputation surveys, and student experience surveys.
This achievement contributes to enhancing the prestige of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in the region, creating motivation for the staff, expanding learning opportunities, and strengthening society's trust in the quality of training, research, and community service of the university.
Currently, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy has a stable team of lecturers and researchers, with the participation of experts from both within and outside the country, attracting a large number of Vietnamese and international students.
Each year, the school trains healthcare professionals with a high employment rate, and many students continue their studies at the postgraduate level. This confirms the effectiveness of its comprehensive development strategy, ranging from improving training quality and expanding international cooperation to enhancing clinical experience and supporting learners.
The university currently offers 12 undergraduate programs and 88 postgraduate programs (doctoral, master's, specialist level I, specialist level II, and residency programs).
The university has implemented medical training in English, fulfilling its international training targets. Annually, the university publishes 12-14 issues of journals (including 2 issues in English), with over 30 articles per issue, and publishes an average of 100 articles internationally in ISI or SCOPUS databases.
