On the morning of August 26, Ho Chi Minh City Banking University issued a notice of response to the case of candidates "having enough points but not being admitted" to the school in the fields of Law, Economic Law, Economic Law (partial English).
The announcement said that after announcing the benchmark scores on August 22, Ho Chi Minh City Banking University received a number of complaints from candidates through media channels about the fact that although the admission results were higher than the benchmark scores, they had not yet received admission notice from the school.
In recent days, on social networks and through feedback from parents, many candidates have expressed their anger that Ho Chi Minh City Banking University has changed the admission requirements for the Law and Economic Law majors, leading to a situation where some candidates with admission scores equal to or higher than the standard score still fail to pass the exam.
According to candidates' feedback, in the announcement of the threshold score to ensure input quality (floor score) for regular university admission in 2025 of Ho Chi Minh City Banking University on July 23 (Announcement No. 1122), the school has specific regulations for the majors of Law, Economic Law and Economic Law (partial English) as follows: admission combinations with Math and Literature, or combinations consisting only of Math, or combinations consisting only of Literature must have a minimum score of 6 (on a scale of 10) for Math or Literature.
With other admission methods, Math and Literature scores will be converted to a 10-point scale for comparison.
However, after the school announced the benchmark scores on August 22, many candidates discovered that the announcement had been edited and supplemented, with the requirement that candidates must have a minimum score of 6 points or higher in Math and Literature (on a 10-point scale).
Thus, with this requirement, candidates applying for group C00 (Literature, History, Geography) in addition to meeting the standard score, must have a Literature and Math score of 6 or higher; while previously, they only needed a Literature score of 6 or higher to be eligible for admission.
A new announcement from Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City affirms: The school's admission principles have been announced through the Admission Project (No. 1920/QD/DHNH dated June 11) and the admission principles in the announcement of the threshold score to ensure input quality (No. 1122 dated July 23).
For Law, Economic Law, Economic Law (partial English), the minimum total admission score is 18 points (calculated on a 30-point scale).
Subject combinations with Math and Literature, or Math or Literature must achieve a minimum score of 6 points or higher on a 10-point scale. For other methods, math and literature scores are converted to the corresponding 10-point scale.
Thus, with this announcement, the selection rules will be guaranteed according to the previous project and announcement.
To ensure the Ministry of Education and Training confirms admission before 5:00 p.m. on August 30, the school requests candidates with questions about admission results to send information to the Admissions Department of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City:
