On June 22, Mr. Pham Dang Khoa, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak , said that he had just received information reflecting that Victory Primary-Middle-High School (Victory School, Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak) canceled the 10th grade admission results of students due to late tuition payment.
“I have asked the Department’s professional department and Victory School to report specifically on the incident. Once the report is available, the Department will work with the relevant units, compare the regulations and within the Department’s authority, will make a specific decision on this case,” said Mr. Khoa.
Previously, Victory Primary - Secondary - High School had a document signed by Mr. Nguyen Hoa Nam, Principal of the school, responding to Mr. NQT (residing in Thuong Tin District, Hanoi City) about canceling the admission results to grade 10 of student NML, Mr. T's daughter.

On June 15, Mr. NQT submitted a petition to Victory School regarding the school canceling the admission results for grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year of student NML. Accordingly, student L. was admitted to grade 10 of Victory School in the first round and was notified by the school that June 8 was the deadline for enrollment and tuition payment.
Mr. T. said that because he lived far away and did not have enough money in his account, he paid the tuition late. On June 10, Mr. T. had just paid his daughter's tuition when he learned that the school had canceled his daughter's admission. Mr. T. also stated in the application that his daughter had studied at Victory School from grade 2 to grade 9, so he hoped the school would create conditions for his daughter to continue to enter grade 10.
According to Victory School's response document signed by Mr. Nguyen Hoa Nam, the school has notified that admitted students need to complete admission procedures and pay one month of tuition as required by 4:00 p.m. on June 8.
Before the deadline for admission, the homeroom teacher informed the parents and L. about the need to complete the admission procedures on time.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoa Nam, Victory School is a private school, 100% financially autonomous. The school's 10th grade admissions are divided into two phases. Phase 1 prioritizes students currently in grade 9 at the school; phase 2 is for students with remaining needs. Students who passed the first phase but did not complete the admission procedures will have their quota reserved for phase 2. Therefore, NML's admission result was canceled according to regulations.
Regarding the reason stated by NML's parents in the petition, Mr. Nam said that L.'s family did not comply with the school's request, nor did they text or call the homeroom teacher or the school's admissions board to discuss the late payment of tuition.
