On April 13, Tri Ton Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities organized activities to celebrate the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year of the Khmer ethnic minority in 2025.

Most Venerable Chau Ty, Deputy Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Council, abbot of Soai So Tom Nop Pagoda (Nui To Commune); Most Venerable Chau Son Hy, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in An Giang Province, abbot of Sa Lon Pagoda (Luong Phi Commune) attended.

Teachers and students reviewed the traditions and meanings of Chol Chnam Thmay; enjoyed performances, pentatonic music, apsara dance, etc.

Venerable Chau Ty sent his best wishes to the teachers and students of Tri Ton Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities to celebrate the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay festival joyfully and warmly; wishing the students to always strive to achieve high results, become good children and good students, useful people for society, and together build an increasingly prosperous homeland.

Besides, monk Chau Son Hy performed a blessing ceremony to welcome a happy and peaceful new year.

On this occasion, Tri Ton Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, philanthropists and former students donated a study corner to a poor but excellent student; provided cash support to two students for medical treatment; awarded 17 sponsorship scholarships, each worth 600,000 VND to students in difficult circumstances; and 16 Chol Chnam Thmay gifts to poor and orphaned students, each worth 250,000 VND.
