On the afternoon of May 8, 2024, in Hanoi , Dr. Tan Nhan, Meritorious Artist, was presented with Decision No. 591/QD-HVANQGVN by the Board of Directors of the Vietnam National Academy of Music (VNA), appointing her to the position of Head of the Vocal Department of the Academy, effective from May 6, 2024.
On the day she assumed her new responsibilities, Dr. Tan Nhan, Meritorious Artist, shared: “The Vocal Department has a great social standing and prestige because it not only excels in training but also has a very strong performing arts segment. In this new position, I am both honored to be trusted and feel considerable pressure.”
At this moment, I dare not promise what I will accomplish during my five-year term, but I promise to work together with the faculty to do our best to further develop the Vocal Department in line with the overall development of the university in this new phase, reaching even further in the current process of international integration. I hope to receive the support and cooperation of the faculty members of the Department and the Vietnam National Academy of Music so that together we can unite and further develop the Vocal Department and the Vietnam National Academy of Music.”

During the Decision awarding ceremony, People's Artist Bui Cong Duy - Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music - expressed: “This is good news for the school, and also good news for the Vocal Music department. The Vocal Music Department is the pride of many generations of famous artists. Through many years of development, we have always dreamed of building a standard-setting department. The difference of the Vietnam National Academy of Music is that it is made up of outstanding people, leaving behind values for future generations. We will continue to develop, inherit, and pass on to future generations.”
In her new role, artist Tan Nhan will undoubtedly face more challenges as she is both an artist, a lecturer, and a leader in the field, and will always be under public scrutiny. We hope that artist Tan Nhan will remain steadfast in overcoming these difficulties so that the Vocal Music Department can embark on a new and more prosperous path.”

People's Artist Quoc Hung - Deputy Director in charge of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, also spoke at the ceremony to present the decision to the Head of the Vocal Department to Dr. and Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan, saying: “I am very happy that the Board of Directors has entrusted the great responsibility to artist Tan Nhan - becoming the Head of the Vocal Department of the Vietnam National Academy of Music. The Vocal Department has a long history of strong development in both training and performance. We can be proud that we are on the right path, following the plan we have set out for many years.”
Regarding the new Head of the Vocal Department, Tan Nhan, People's Artist Quoc Hung commented: "Tan Nhan was appointed Head of Department at a relatively young age, with the strength of being bold and decisive. Her dynamism and determination are what I support in her taking on this important role. I hope that, in her leadership role in the Vocal Department, Tan Nhan will work alongside the Board of Directors and the Vietnam National Academy of Music to continue developing her strengths, always united and creative, so that the Department becomes stronger and stronger, contributing to the continuous development of the Vietnam National Academy of Music. I believe and hope that Tan Nhan will fulfill her responsibilities well."

Present at the ceremony to present the appointment decision for the Head of the Vocal Department to Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan, singer Ngoc Cham confided to a reporter from Dan Viet newspaper her pride and emotion: "For me, Tan Nhan possesses both aspects completely. Not only is she a talented performing artist, but she also has a management mindset, is decisive and proactive, and is willing to set aside her celebrity ego for the common good of the group. When I heard that Tan Nhan was entrusted with this important responsibility by the school's leadership, I was happy because I believe she deserves it more than anyone else."

Having worked closely with Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan for many years, singer Ngoc Cham said that the female artist had often limited her outside work to focus on her work at the department, even though she was a renowned performing artist and always received many invitations to perform.
"I admire Tan Nhan because she is genuine and wholeheartedly dedicated to her work, family, and friends. Perhaps that's what has created her unique personality and identity," Ngoc Cham affirmed.

Dr. Tan Nhan, Meritorious Artist, was born in 1982 in Ha Nam province . After graduating with a Master's degree in Classical Chamber Music, Tan Nhan became a lecturer at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, earning her PhD in 2019. She was appointed Deputy Head of the Vocal Department of the Vietnam National Academy of Music in 2017.
Throughout her singing career, she won first prize in the Folk Music category at the 2005 Sao Mai Singing Contest. In 2019, the female singer impressed audiences with her solo live show titled "Returning Home".
Having dedicated nearly 20 years to her singing career, Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan has released many solo albums that have been well-received by audiences, such as: "Crescent Moon," "Spring Rain," "Spring Train," "Pink Apron on the Street," "Holding onto the Pink Silk Ribbon," etc. In 2023, Tan Nhan was among the 42 artists who received the title of Meritorious Artist awarded by the State.
