Tuan Anh and Quang Hai nominated for Vietnam Golden Ball 2023

The list of nominees for the 2023 Vietnam Golden Ball Award was announced by the organizing committee today, October 24. Unlike recent rumors on social media, midfielder Nguyen Tuan Anh is still on the list.

The midfielder born in 1995 continued to experience a difficult season with Hoang Anh Gia Lai . With Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong, and Van Toan leaving, Tuan Anh could not help the mountain town team maintain its position at the top of the V-League rankings. However, Tuan Anh is still an important factor in the Vietnam national team.

Overall, this year’s nomination list accurately reflects the quality of the players’ playing. Outstanding names at the national team and club levels such as Nguyen Hoang Duc, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Do Hung Dung, and Que Ngoc Hai are all present.

In addition, the return after 8 years of naturalized striker Hoang Vu Samson is very remarkable. At the age of 35, he still scored 10 goals for Ho Chi Minh City and helped the team stay in the league.

Quang Hai is nominated for the Vietnam Golden Ball 2023.

The team that left a strong impression was Dong A Thanh Hoa, also contributing a member, midfielder Lam Ti Phong. Quang Hai is still on the nomination list even though 2023 was a year of professional failure for the player born in 1997. In the Women's Golden Ball category, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nha appeared after many years of being a regular candidate in the young player category. Her contributions to the Vietnamese women's team in many tournaments have become increasingly evident. However, competing with Huynh Nhu, Pham Hai Yen, Tran Thi Thuy Trang or Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung for the Golden Ball title is still not an easy challenge for Thanh Nha.

The title of best young male player is a competition between Nguyen Dinh Bac (Quang Nam), Nguyen Thanh Nhan (PVF-CAND), Khuat Van Khang ( Viettel ) and Nguyen Thai Son (Thanh Hoa).

In the category of best foreign player, Bruno Cantanhede (Dong A Thanh Hoa Club), Herlison Caion de Souza Ferreira (Hanoi FC), Jhon Cley (Hanoi Police Club), Rafaelson Bezerra Fernandes (Binh Dinh Club), Victor Mansaray (Ho Chi Minh City Club) are all strikers with the best scoring records in V-League 2023.
