On the morning of November 22, in Na Sang commune, Dien Bien province, the Central Youth Union and the Central Vietnam Youth Union launched the "Journey to accompany border students"; the project "Vietnamese youth accompany children in border areas for the period 2025 - 2030"; the Winter Volunteer Program 2025 and Spring Volunteer Program 2026 at the central level.

Speaking at the program, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front , First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy affirmed that the event is an important milestone, a time for the youth of the whole country to begin a new and meaningful journey towards the Fatherland's borders.
He emphasized that Vietnam's border region, stretching over 4,500 km through 22 provinces, has a particularly important strategic position in terms of national defense, security and socio-economic development. Notably, this is home to millions of ethnic minorities, of which youth and children account for more than one-third of the population.

From the direction of the Party and the State, the Central Youth Union has concretized many activities such as "March Border Month", "Spring Border - Island Tet", "Lighting up the Border". However, to create sustainable changes, a long-term, synchronous program is needed. This is the reason why the project "Vietnamese Youth Accompanying Children in Border Areas for the Period 2025 - 2030" was launched, demonstrating the strong commitment of the youth in joining hands to build and protect the border.
Comrade Bui Quang Huy expressed his belief that from the heroic historical land of Dien Bien, the flame of the journey will spread to all 248 border communes, lighting up faith, cultivating knowledge and fostering the will to rise up for the young generation. He called on the youth to turn the long miles of border into long miles of hope, so that each volunteer step becomes a beautiful mark on the map of the Fatherland.

The project "Vietnamese Youth Accompanying Children in Border Areas for the 2025 - 2030 Period" focuses on a comprehensive series of accompanying contents. First of all, it is to support economic development and start-ups for border area youth through building economic models suitable to local potential, connecting experts, supporting access to capital and product consumption channels.
At the same time, the project supports young people in digital transformation with programs such as popularizing digital education, providing information technology knowledge, implementing online learning models and the movement "digital youth for digital borders".
Along with that is the voluntary activity to ensure social security according to the principle of "3 together" (together, together sharing, together developing)...

At the program, the Central Youth Union and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union launched 5 Youth Volunteer teams for Winter 2025 and Spring Volunteer 2026, including the fields of green environment, healthcare, education, community support and digital transformation.
The teams will operate in particularly difficult border areas, supporting people and students to improve their lives.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, many response activities were organized, such as free medical examination and medicine distribution; inauguration of "Computer room for children"; giving bicycles to poor students who have overcome difficulties; presenting Uncle Ho's picture and national flag; and starting construction of An Hoa 5 bridge.
The total resources donated on this occasion is more than 11 billion VND.
