The ceremony was organized by the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in coordination with the Coordination and Cooperation Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Laos, the Lao Buddhist Alliance of Xiangkhoang province, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province and the Vietnamese community in Xiangkhoang.

Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam, representatives of Buddhist organizations of the two countries, leaders of Xiangkhoang province, representatives of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association, Veterans Association, Vietnamese associations in Laos, along with a large number of Buddhists, overseas Vietnamese and local people.
In a solemn atmosphere, the lantern ceremony was performed according to the traditional Buddhist rituals of Vietnam and Laos. Thousands of lanterns were lit, creating a sparkling and sacred scene. Venerable monks and nuns of Vietnam and Laos performed the ceremony to pray for peace , safety and commemorate those who contributed to building the independence and freedom of the two countries.

The Lantern Festival is an opportunity for today's generations to express their gratitude and affirm their determination to preserve and nurture the strong friendship that has been forged throughout history and continued through practical, humane actions. This is not only a commemorative activity, but also a bridge connecting the souls, cultures and emotions between the people of the two countries - together towards good, sustainable values in the present and the future.
In particular, the art program "Vietnam - Laos brotherhood" brought many emotions, with performances by artists from both countries. The music, images and lyrics honored the loyal and close relationship between the two nations; deeply depicting the resilient spirit and loyalty of the children who contributed to writing history.

On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam, along with representatives of the Buddhist Sangha and local leaders, presented hundreds of gifts to families with meritorious services, relatives of martyrs and disadvantaged children in Xiangkhoang. The gifts demonstrate the companionship and sharing of Vietnam-Laos friendship.
Immediately after the meaningful gift-giving ceremony for families with meritorious services and children in special circumstances, delegates attended the Lantern Festival to commemorate Vietnamese and Lao heroes and martyrs - a profound spiritual activity imbued with the Buddhist cultural values of the two nations.

In a series of activities commemorating Vietnam War Invalids and Martyrs Day in Xiangkhoang province (Laos), a special art program with the theme "Vietnam - Laos brotherhood" took place, bringing a calm and emotional atmosphere to a large number of attendees.
Featuring artists from Vietnam and Laos, the program is a symphony praising the close bond between the two nations. The elaborately staged performances vividly depict the journey of standing side by side during important historical periods, thereby spreading the message of solidarity, patriotism and the desire for lasting peace.
Music, dance and artistic images combine harmoniously to recreate the spirit and dedication of generations of Vietnamese and Lao people, while inspiring the younger generation in their journey to continue the precious legacy of their ancestors.
The program is also a meaningful cultural highlight, contributing to further strengthening the special friendship between the two countries. Thereby, affirming the lasting bond not only through history, but also through profound spiritual and humane values.
