Gypsum walls are durable and safe, with a lifespan almost equivalent to brick walls.

Unlike the ceiling system, the plaster wall has a fairly simple structure consisting of a steel frame, firmly reinforced with the floor, wall and ceiling. This skeleton system plays the role of bearing the internal force, the outside can be covered with different types of plasterboard such as waterproof plasterboard, moisture-proof plasterboard.

Normally, plasterboard will be treated with joints and painted to ensure aesthetics. In addition, glass wool, soundproof synthetic rubber boards or sound-absorbing mineral fiber boards can be combined with plasterboard to increase soundproofing and fire resistance. Therefore, plasterboard is durable and safe, with a lifespan almost equivalent to brick walls.

Advantages of plaster walls over brick walls

10 times lighter than brick walls

The most outstanding advantage of plaster walls is that they are 7-10 times lighter than brick walls. Specifically, a 110mm thick solid brick wall weighs 180kg/m2, but a plaster wall with a frame and insulation cotton of the same thickness weighs only about 23kg/m2. This is an extremely important advantage that helps us recalculate the total load of the construction and significantly reduce investment costs in the house foundation. For constructions using plaster walls and ceilings, the weight will be reduced many times, thereby helping to limit too much pressure on the construction foundation.

Fast construction, cost savings

Thanks to its light weight and large size, the process of constructing and dismantling plaster walls is easy and fast. Experiments show that 3 people can construct 60m2 of plaster walls per day, 3 times faster than the progress of building brick walls. Thanks to that, the homeowner saves on labor costs and puts the project into use sooner. In addition to easy installation, when making plaster walls, the drying time will be reduced compared to the brick wall construction method.

Flexible in use

Using plaster walls will make it easier to change the structure of the room, re-divide the space much more than having to knock down heavy brick walls, which can affect the structure of the foundation. In addition, plaster walls also have many diverse shapes such as curved, block or create many styles suitable for the interior design of the house.

Strong, durable

Gypsum walls are made of a steel frame that is firmly reinforced with the floor, walls and ceiling, so this partition system is durable and safe, with a lifespan equivalent to a level I house if placed in suitable working conditions. On the other hand, with the use of specialized hanging screws and proper construction, gypsum walls can hang from light-weight hanging objects such as televisions, wall clocks, etc. to large-sized and heavy hanging objects.

Soundproof, fireproof

In addition to the function of dividing space, plasterboard walls made from plasterboards are also fireproof, soundproof and moisture-proof. In case of fire, plasterboard will not add fuel to the fire, prevent the fire from spreading or becoming larger. If designed into a fireproof system, it will help prevent heat from transferring from one place to another. Depending on the structure, the system can withstand fire for 60-120 minutes. However, it is necessary to use synchronous fireproof solutions from partition walls, doors, windows, etc. to achieve optimal performance. Thanks to the 2-layer structure and the space between, plasterboard walls have good soundproofing effects. This helps plasterboard walls to separate outside noise from inside, bringing a quiet space to the inside of the room. Not only that, this plasterboard wall also has good moisture resistance. With moisture-resistant plasterboards, it will create a dry and airy space, suitable for construction in wet areas such as toilets, bathrooms, laundry rooms, etc.

Easy to install underground water and electricity system

With a hollow structure inside, plaster walls allow for easy wiring of electricity, water, and air conditioning without wasting time breaking down the structure. Repair and maintenance during use are also simplified. With the above advantages, plaster walls have been utilized by investors and design consultants in projects to replace traditional brick walls in recent times.
