Propaganda on defense zone drills is a key political task in 2024

On August 20, the Propaganda Department of An Giang Provincial Party Committee held a conference to orient information on the An Giang provincial defense area exercise in 2024.

During the 2020-2025 term, An Giang province organized a defense zone exercise according to the Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee. The preparation and practice of the exercise lasted for many months, aiming to continue to consolidate and improve the capacity, awareness and responsibility of the entire political system and people in the province for the tasks of national defense - security, regional construction and operation and national protection in the new situation; be ready to effectively respond to possible situations, maintain political security and social order and safety in the area.

It is expected that joint training will be held on August 21 and 22, 2024; official drills will be held on August 28 and 29, 2024. The drills will include live-fire exercises, air bullets, and explosives in Dong Xuyen ward (Long Xuyen city), An Hao and An Cu communes, and Chi Lang ward (Tinh Bien town).

Speaking at the Conference, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Tran Thi Thanh Huong emphasized that this is an annual training and exercise activity based on hypothetical situations, aiming to gain experience in organization, methods, content of leadership, direction, and good operation of activities in the defense zone; gradually supplement and perfect the system of defense combat documents, plans to handle defense and security situations; assurance plans of departments, branches, sectors, and socio-political organizations in handling defense and security situations in the defense zone, meeting the requirements and tasks of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.

Comrade Tran Thi Thanh Huong suggested that the Propaganda Subcommittee and press and propaganda agencies in the province need to clearly identify that propaganda about the provincial defense zone exercise is one of the key political tasks of the province in 2024; focus on propaganda to ensure unity, compliance with regulations, create consensus in the entire political system and all classes of people, contributing to the exercise being successful and absolutely safe.
