Vietnam U16 women's team arrives in Indonesia, kicking off journey to conquer 2025 Southeast Asian championship

VHO - On the morning of August 19, the Vietnamese U16 women's team left for Indonesia to participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 Women's Championship, starting their journey to conquer the regional championship.

Vietnam U16 women's team has arrived in Indonesia

After a 12-hour flight from Hanoi to Jakarta and then connecting to Sujakarta - the main competition venue, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team arrived safely that same evening.

The 2025 Southeast Asian Women's U16 Championship will take place from August 20 to 30. The Vietnamese women's U16 team is in Group B with Cambodia and Myanmar. The opening match of coach Okiyama Masahiko's team will take place at 7:30 p.m. on August 21 against Cambodia, before facing Myanmar on August 25. The semi-finals are scheduled to take place on August 27 and the final on August 29.

Before the opening ceremony, the team's representatives will attend a technical meeting on the morning of August 20 and in the afternoon of the same day, coach Okiyama Masahiko will attend a press conference, while the players get acquainted with the field and weather in Sujakarta.

Bringing along 23 players who have had a month of active training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, coach Okiyama Masahiko expressed his satisfaction with the preparation process.

He highly appreciated the players' discipline, efforts and progress, and affirmed that the whole team is determined to play their best to bring about the best results, aiming for the highest goal in this tournament.
