Right in the first set, U21 Chile started the game proactively with a high attack tempo, difficult serves and disciplined blocking. Accurate one-touch plays helped them maintain a gap of 3-4 points, before breaking away to win 25-19.
In the second set, Chile's superiority became even more evident. Mexico's back row started the first step unsteadily, often being pushed to the sidelines, creating opportunities for Chile's opponents to score from fast balls in the second position.

The Chilean blockers closed the angle effectively, continuously "predicting" Mexico's cross-court smashes, thereby creating a big gap and closing the set 25-14.
Set 3 saw Mexico step up their game. They improved their passing and increased their speed in mid-range combinations.
The game was tied at 18-18, but Chile's mettle showed up at the right time: a deep serve caused Mexico to miss the second set, while Chile's left wing took full advantage of the "three-meter return" to finish. A crucial 3-point streak at the end of the set helped Chile reach match-point and close the set 25-21.
Winning 3-0, U21 Chile will face U21 Vietnam in the match for 17th-20th place at the 2025 U21 Volleyball World Cup on August 15.
