Right in the first set, U21 Chile started the game proactively with a high attack tempo, difficult serves and disciplined blocking. Accurate one-touch shots helped them maintain a gap of 3-4 points, before breaking away to win 25-19.
In the second set, Chile's superiority became even more evident. Mexico's backline started the first set unsteadily, often being pushed to the sidelines, creating opportunities for Chile's counter-passers to score points from fast balls in the second position.

The Chilean blockers effectively closed the angle, continuously "predicting" Mexico's cross-court smashes, thereby creating a big gap and closing the set 25-14.
Set 3 saw Mexico step up their game. They improved their passing and increased their speed in mid-range combinations.
The game was tied at 18-18, but Chile's mettle showed up at the right time: a deep serve caused Mexico to miss its second set, while Chile's left wing took full advantage of the "three-meter return" to finish. A crucial 3-point streak at the end of the set helped Chile reach match-point and close the set 25-21.
Winning 3-0, U21 Chile will face U21 Vietnam in the match for 17th-20th place at the 2025 U21 Volleyball World Cup on August 15.
