Provincial People's Committee: Working with Thai Thuy district on socio-economic development tasks

On the afternoon of June 21, the working delegation of the Provincial People's Committee led by Mr. Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with the People's Committee of Thai Thuy district on the socio -economic development situation, disbursement of public investment capital, removing difficulties in production and business, proposing decentralization and authorization of the implementation of tasks of the Provincial People's Committee and a number of other issues in the district. Attending the working session were members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee and departments, branches and sectors.

In the first 6 months of 2023, the economy of Thai Thuy district had a good growth, with the total production value estimated at more than 14,500 billion VND, an increase of 7.75%. The district's agricultural sector has developed stably, of which 33 OCOP products have been built that meet provincial standards of 3 to 4 stars. The whole district has 5 communes recognized as advanced new rural communes. The district focuses on implementing key projects of the province and district in the area, creating momentum to promote economic growth; doing a good job of site clearance for key projects such as: Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park, National Highway 37, Provincial Road DT 455, planned roads No. 2 and No. 5... Coordinate with infrastructure investors of industrial parks and clusters to promote investment attraction for secondary projects. The district focuses on removing difficulties and obstacles for businesses to promote production and business development. Thanks to that, the industrial production value of the district in the first 6 months of 2023 reached more than 5,679 billion VND, an increase of over 11% over the same period in 2022. Regarding the total public investment capital plan of the district budget in 2023, it reached more than 525 billion VND, the disbursement value as of May 31, 2023 was nearly 65 billion VND, reaching more than 12% of the capital plan. The total state budget revenue in the first 6 months of 2023 is estimated at 1,024 billion VND, equal to more than 72% of the provincial estimate, equal to 44% of the district estimate.

At the meeting, the leaders of the province, departments, branches and Thai Thuy district analyzed the causes, shortcomings, limitations and focused on discussing solutions related to the district's recommendations on planning, land management, land use plans, site clearance for projects, new rural construction, removing difficulties in implementing a number of key projects and works in the area, supporting businesses to develop production and business...

At the working session, members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee requested Thai Thuy district to focus and resolutely implement the goals and plans set out in socio-economic development. In his concluding remarks, Comrade Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the achievements of Thai Thuy district in the context of economic difficulties. He also pointed out some limitations of the district such as: not fully exploiting the available potential and advantages; many fields are still left fallow in agricultural production; violations of land and environmental laws that have existed in previous years have not been thoroughly resolved; the progress of land use rights auctions is still slow; the state budget collection situation is still facing difficulties; some projects are still stuck in construction sites, so the progress of project implementation and capital disbursement is still slow...

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the district to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the directions of the central government and the province on tasks and solutions for socio-economic development, especially the directions on removing difficulties for units and enterprises in production and business; review the socio-economic development targets and plans in the coming time, thereby finding the causes and solutions to strive to achieve the goals and plans for the whole year; maximize and effectively promote the available potentials and advantages of the district; focus on agricultural development, focusing on doing well the regional planning and land accumulation, replicating models for high economic efficiency; continue to focus on building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas; continue to implement the district planning in conjunction with the provincial planning; be more drastic in solutions to increase revenue for the budget; pay attention to and do well the work of land management and environmental protection; Do better in site clearance, especially for key projects of the province; pay attention to and invest resources to develop synchronous and modern transport infrastructure, serving the tasks of socio-economic development and investment attraction; pay attention to and invest in infrastructure for medical and educational facilities; do well in security and order, stabilize the situation right from the grassroots level; strengthen the building of a clean and strong Party and government, create close solidarity from the district to the grassroots level as a premise for the district to successfully carry out the tasks and goals set out.
