A video posted by Ukrainian special forces shows airstrikes on several pontoon bridges in the Kursk region, where Russia previously reported that Ukraine had destroyed at least three major bridges across the Seym River in an attempt to cut off Moscow's supply lines.

Mykola Bielieskov, an expert at the National Institute for Strategic Studies of Ukraine, a research group in Kyiv, said that attacks on bridges and pontoons would help Ukraine build a defensive line along the river.
The video also shows drone attacks on military trucks and other locations described as Russian ammunition depots and an electronic warfare complex in the Kursk region.
Ukraine's statement said that the US-made HIMARS missile system was used as part of an operation to disrupt Russian logistics in Kursk, the first official statement from Kyiv acknowledging the use of this weapon in the invasion.
The U.S. and its allies had previously stated they would prohibit Ukraine from conducting long-range attacks with Western weapons inside Russian territory, but allowed Kyiv to use them to attack border areas following Russia's attack on Kharkiv earlier this year.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said it had gained more territorial control in the Kursk region than Moscow had achieved in Ukraine this year. Russia called the attack on its border an escalation of the war.
Currently, in addition to the new fighting in the Kursk region which began on August 6th, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues fiercely on many other fronts. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russia has captured the settlement of Zhelanne, near the Pokrovsk transport hub in eastern Ukraine.
Additionally, both sides reported major drone attacks on each other's territory. Ukraine said it intercepted 50 of 69 drones launched by Russia. Meanwhile, Moscow said its air defense systems destroyed 45 drones launched by Kyiv over Russian territory, including 11 over the capital region.
