This deplorable act is an isolated case, but not the only one. Somewhere in social life, we sometimes feel sad to see some people who have contributed to the country being "forgotten".
This time last year, on the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, a number of elderly veterans who participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign were “forgotten”. On the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, this situation recurred. Some Veterans reported that they did not receive any invitations, visits, or congratulations...!
Showing gratitude to those who have contributed to the country is the morality of the nation, a major policy of our Party and State. To let such sad events happen, we need to clearly see the responsibility of local Party committees, authorities, and functional officials, especially the role of organizations close to the people. Lack of close contact with the grassroots, poor implementation, inspection, and supervision are the causes of this shortcoming.
Showing gratitude is the work of many generations, but this work will be more meaningful if it is focused on doing well on “occasions”. The 30-4 celebration has passed, but it is still “occasions”. If there are mistakes, correct them, if there are shortcomings, supplement them. Local Party committees, authorities, and functional officials need to review, inspect, and supplement programs and activities to show gratitude to veterans and those who contributed to the resistance war against the US to save the country.
If you are left behind somewhere, you will be guilty of a crime against history. Material things are small matters. The most important thing is the attitude, gratitude and respect with all your heart...
