According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, up to now, the city has invested in building 161 concentrated rural clean water plants, with a scale of 200m³/day and night to 500m³/day and night.
Currently, rural areas are supplied with water from 74 rural clean water plants and 10 urban clean water plants. The rate of rural people using clean water is 100%.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has coordinated with relevant units to review and propose to the City People's Committee to consider allocating about 620 billion VND to invest in projects to prevent salinity and treat concentrated and dispersed water pollution in the areas of Re River, Da Do River and Gia River. The proposal is expected to be submitted to the City People's Committee in June 2025.
After conducting a field inspection and listening to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the opinions of the members of the Supervisory Delegation, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Dao Trong Duc emphasized the essential role of clean water for life, production and public health, especially in the context of increasing environmental pollution and climate change.
The Chairman of the City Fatherland Front Committee called on the whole society to join hands in protecting and rationally using water resources for the goal of sustainable development. He affirmed that the use of clean water is the right and legitimate need of the people. Therefore, relevant levels, sectors, localities and units need to pay special attention to the work of providing and ensuring clean water for rural areas.
Acknowledging that the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has prepared a fairly comprehensive report, he suggested adding some content to accurately reflect the current situation of rural clean water supply, the treatment process and the roadmap for terminating the operation of unqualified mini water plants. At the same time, it is necessary to make specific, focused and key recommendations and proposals to ensure the effective provision of clean water to rural people.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development fully accepts the opinions of the Monitoring Team, completes the report and sends it to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city before June 9, 2025.
