The Provincial Political School has just organized a school-level scientific conference with the theme “Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification - Historical significance and value”. Besides affirming the significance and historical value of the great victory in the Spring of 1975, the conference also emphasized the important role of the army and people of Binh Dinh in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign.
A milestone in the nation's golden history
At the workshop, delegates clarified the contents surrounding the proposed topic, highlighting the leadership role of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh in the great victory of Spring 1975, and at the same time drawing lessons for the current cause of national construction and protection.
In his closing speech at the 15th Anniversary of the Founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (September 1, 1960), President Ho Chi Minh affirmed: “We send to our compatriots in the South our fraternal love and promise to our compatriots that: If all our people unite and persevere in the struggle, our Fatherland will certainly be unified,
North and South will definitely reunite as one family". Recalling Uncle Ho's words, Dr. Pham Van Nam, Principal of the Provincial Political School, acknowledged: The resounding general offensive in the Spring of 1975 and its glorious end on April 30, 1975 was a shining symbol of the spirit of national solidarity and the heroic, resilient, and indomitable spirit of soldiers and people "determined to die for the Fatherland".

According to Dr. Nguyen Huynh Huyen, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising was the most brilliant milestone in the history of the struggle for independence of the Vietnamese people, "affirmed by the Politburo as a great victory". Mr. Huyen said: According to researchers, the great victory of the 1975 Spring had many meanings: It ended the victory of 30 years of the struggle for national liberation and national reunification. It marked the victory of the people's national democratic revolution, opening a new era in the history of the nation, which is the era of unifying the whole country towards socialism, innovation and international integration. This was also an event that crystallized the tradition of patriotism, the pinnacle of the great solidarity of the Vietnamese people, especially in the Ho Chi Minh era.
Through research and analysis of the document set “Vietnam War Diary” written by heroic martyrs and soldiers who directly participated in the Southern battlefield, Master Tran Ngoc Hong (Department of Training Management and Scientific Research, Provincial Political School) has grounds to refute the arguments that go against the national interests as distortions and blatant fabrications of reactionary forces, aiming to incite division in national unity, defame revolutionary ideals and distort the meaning of our people's resistance war against the invading American imperialists. "It is necessary to propagate and educate awareness so that people, especially the young, are vigilant and not be drawn into the false arguments spread by reactionary forces, especially in cyberspace as it is today," Mr. Hong emphasized.
Binh Dinh joins the epic of great victory
The presentations and discussions at the Workshop also clarified the timely and meaningful contributions of Binh Dinh province at the decisive moment of the nation.
According to Dr. Nguyen Trieu Tien (Department of Political Theory, Party History and Science and Education, Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committee), right after the liberation of the whole province (March 31, 1975), although there were still many heavy tasks ahead, the Provincial Party Committee immediately mobilized the army and people to urgently and actively contribute human resources and material resources to serve the southern battlefield and the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign. The expanded meeting of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee (April 10-13, 1975) clearly stated: "Highly mobilize human resources and material resources to effectively serve the cause of completely liberating the South".
The whole province launched a “Donation Week” movement to contribute money, food, provisions and a part of the spoils of war such as weapons, military uniforms and equipment captured from the enemy to serve the Ho Chi Minh Campaign. Binh Dinh province also sent 600 Youth Volunteers and 2,000 laborers to participate in the combat. In April 1975 alone, over 7,000 Youth Union members joined the army and guerrillas, hundreds of Youth Union members volunteered to join the main force to participate in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign.
According to Master Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Chairman of the Provincial Historical Science Association, the 50th anniversary of the victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) is an opportunity to look back at the important role of the masses in the days of preparation and heroic struggle to liberate Binh Dinh province in the spring of 1975.
Since the Paris Agreement was signed (January 27, 1973), on the battlefield of Binh Dinh province, the war situation has been increasingly favorable to the revolution. Thanks to good propaganda, mobilization and education work, the masses have had many positive changes, actively supporting and effectively serving the armed forces in defeating the enemy's encroachment operations.
In 1973, more than 358 thousand people participated in political struggles and military agitation... The role of the masses was promoted in all fields, contributing to defeating many extremely insidious and cunning tricks and plots of the enemy government.
Mr. Anh summarized the lesson learned: Thoroughly grasp the Party's viewpoint of taking "people as the root", promoting the strength of the masses, relying on the masses to fight and serve the fight, and winning...
