Along with the Vietnamese Sports Delegation participating in the 2023 Asian Pencak Silat Championship, two athletes from Son La province, Quang Thi Thu Nghia and Ca Thi Minh, excellently won 2 Gold Medals.

From November 8 to 13, the 7th Asian Pencak Silat Championship - 2023 was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), with the participation of more than 500 athletes from 18 countries and territories in the continent.
The Vietnamese sports delegation has 34 officials, coaches, and athletes, of which 23 athletes participating in the tournament are martial artists who are highly appreciated for their expertise and experience in competing in both men's and women's combat events. In particular, Son La province contributed 2 athletes who have won many high achievements at world , regional, and national tournaments. After many days of intense competition, athlete Quang Thi Thu Nghia won the gold medal in the 70-75kg weight category for women's combat events; athlete Ca Thi Minh also excellently won the gold medal in the 75-80kg weight category for women; contributing to the overall achievements of the Vietnamese sports delegation with a total of 8 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 9 bronze medals, ranking 2nd overall.

This achievement once again affirms the talent and class of the two female athletes from Son La in Pencak Silat, and is a motivation for Son La's high-performance sports to continue to make more efforts in training and developing the province's athletes in the coming time.
